Healthcare for remote communities

€1.00

Concern Worldwide works in some of the world's most fragile and hard-to-reach places, supporting communities that are often beyond the reach of essential services. In these situations, mobile outreach teams travel to hard-to-reach communities to provide health screenings, nutrition support, treatment referrals, and care for vulnerable children and families.

A gift of €3,410 could help us bring life-saving health and nutrition services directly to remote communities, reaching more than 4,000 people in need of care. By supporting mobile health access, this gift ensures that families can receive the support they need, helping communities stay healthy and resilient.

This gift helps support our Health and Nutrition programme, helping to save lives and keep families healthy.

Amina Abdirahman (38) is a mother to ten children

In Kenya, many of the communities we work with are located in remote areas, and families face extreme difficulty in reaching health facilities when they need care.

Throughout 2025, the country faced recurrent drought, reducing access to safe water for people, livestock and crops, increasing hunger, disease risk and pressure on livelihoods.

During the recent drought, Amina, pictured here, struggled to feed her ten children, and several became malnourished.

Previously, the hospital was too far away for her to seek care, but now the Leyai health and nutrition outreach site is available to help families like hers, providing immunisations, nutrition support and essential healthcare services.
